ARP Megatrend Fund Announcement

We are pleased to formally announce the launch of the ARP Megatrend Fund, marking a significant milestone in our journey as an investment manager and a new means of expressing our thematic investing approach. We would like to extend our gratitude to all those involved in the launch process, not least our supportive clients who have committed seed capital.

A new opportunity for investors

Absolute Return Partners (ARP) is committed to thematic investing. We have launched a fund of direct investments, seeking to benefit from the seven megatrends we have identified over the last 15 years. The combination of those seven megatrends will, in the years to come, change the world almost beyond recognition, we believe.

In no particular order, these megatrends currently include Climate Change, Last Stages of the Debt Supercycle, Changing Demographics, The Rising Gap between Rich and Poor, Rise of the East, The Era of Disruption and Globalisation 2.0.

Each of those megatrends will, either in isolation or via a subset of interlinked investment themes, provide plenty of both tailwinds and headwinds for investors for many years to come. The investment themes identified may be positively or negatively exposed to the megatrends. Most will be beneficiaries and will predominantly be expressed via investments in equities.

A prominent early-day example is our investment in nuclear energy, a key component in the energy transition and a beneficiary of the Climate Change megatrend. We have invested in nuclear energy via a basket of uranium-related financial instruments that are expected to benefit from a rising uranium price. Similarly, another investment theme in the portfolio is Artificial Intelligence, a beneficiary of the Era of Disruption megatrend. The basket is diversified across hyperscalers, global enablers and AI-empowered companies.
